A well-established and busy design studio in Birmingham is seeking an experienced Architectural Technologist to join their team. This opportunity is ideal for a motivated professional looking to take the next step in their career while working on innovative commercial schemes, mixed-use developments, and high-end bespoke residential projects.
Responsibilities:
- Produce detailed technical drawings, specifications, and coordinated design information to a high professional standard.
- Collaborate closely with architects, structural engineers, contractors, and other consultants.
- Develop and review technical solutions for steel frame and reinforced concrete structures.
- Provide technical input on below-ground construction, including foundations, retaining structures, and waterproofing.
- Ensure all documentation complies with current UK Building Regulations and relevant statutory requirements.
- Support site teams by addressing technical queries and assisting with construction-stage challenges.
- Contribute to quality assurance processes and maintain internal technical standards.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in an Architectural Technologist role.
- Proven experience with steel frame, reinforced concrete, and below-ground construction.
- Strong technical knowledge of basement and foundation design.
- Excellent understanding of UK Building Regulations.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit/BIM, or similar design software.
- Strong communication, coordination, and organisational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines with accuracy and professionalism.
