About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of major construction projects across the North East of England, with individual project values ranging from £60m to £100m. This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of large-scale developments and play a key role in delivering complex, high-value schemes from pre-construction through to completion.

You will be responsible for driving programme performance, managing multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of major construction projects valued between £60m–£100m.

  • Manage project teams including site management, consultants, subcontractors, and supply chain partners.

  • Oversee programme management, risk mitigation, and commercial performance.

  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, environmental, and quality standards.

  • Maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and local authorities.

  • Monitor project progress, reporting regularly on programme, cost, and risk.

  • Provide strategic leadership and decision-making throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Support pre-construction activities including tender input, buildability reviews, and programme development.

Requirements

  • Proven experience delivering large-scale construction projects (£50m+) as a Project Manager or Senior Project Manager.

  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing large project teams and complex stakeholder groups.

  • Extensive knowledge of construction methodologies, contracts, and project delivery processes.

  • Excellent commercial awareness and risk management capability.

  • Strong communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.

  • Degree-qualified in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).

  • Professional membership (e.g. APM, CIOB, RICS) desirable.
