Site Manager

Job Title: Site Manager 
Location: Otterburn, Northumberland
Contract: Freelance – 6 Months+
Start Date: Two Weeks

The Role:
We are looking for a Freelance Site Manager to take charge of a rural development project near Otterburn, overseeing groundworks and the construction of new agricultural buildings. This is a 6-month+ freelance role with the potential for extension.

You’ll be responsible for day-to-day site operations, ensuring the works progress smoothly, safely, and on schedule, with a focus on quality and coordination across multiple trades and activities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and coordinate groundworks, foundations, drainage, and steel-framed building erection

• Ensure all works are completed to specification, budget, and timeline

• Enforce site health & safety and environmental compliance

• Liaise with subcontractors, suppliers, and the wider project team

• Maintain site records, progress reports, and QA documentation

• Be the main point of contact on-site, managing any issues as they arise

Requirements:

• Previous experience managing groundworks and/or agricultural/commercial builds

• SMSTS, First Aid, and valid CSCS card

• Strong organisational and communication skills

• Ability to manage subcontractors and multiple phases of construction

• Confident working independently in a rural/agricultural setting

• Full UK driving licence
