We’re working with one of the UK’s leading Tier 1 contractors to find an experienced Construction Planner to join their team in Durham. With a strong pipeline of major projects across infrastructure, civil engineering, and build sectors, this is a great opportunity to be part of a high-performing planning team delivering complex, high-value schemes.
The Role:
You’ll play a key role in the successful delivery of projects across the region — supporting tenders, building detailed programmes, and working closely with project teams on live sites. The ideal candidate will be confident producing and managing project plans from pre-construction through to completion, using industry-standard software such as Primavera P6 or Asta Powerproject.Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain detailed construction programmes
- Support pre-construction and tender teams with planning input
- Work with site and commercial teams to monitor progress and mitigate delays
- Carry out site visits to assess progress and update programmes
- Provide regular reports and updates to project stakeholders
What We’re Looking For:
- Proven experience in a planning role within a Tier 1 or large main contractor
- Strong understanding of construction methods and sequencing
- Proficiency in planning software (Primavera P6, Asta Powerproject or similar)
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to liaise with multiple stakeholders
- Background in civil engineering or general construction projects
